Apple iPhone to have a Candy-Bar Form Factor; Done....Beyond Speculation

Confirmation of iPhone, and new Macbooks?

TAIPEI (XFN-ASIA) - Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd (2317.TW) has secured contracts from Apple Computer for 12 million mobile handsets that also function as music players, the Commercial Times quoted industry sources as saying.

What did they say?
...No new MacBooks. Foxconn/Hon Hai is simply becoming another manufacturer of the MacBook Pro. The iPhone part is interesting though: [link]
..."Confirmation" will only come when one of the following two things happen:
1) The FCC publish the Apple filing for the iPhone, as they do for all mobile phones a few months before they come to market.
2) Apple announce iPhone at a conference/on their website.

Apple signs deal with Cingular: iPhone confirmed?

Interest in the iPhone project has been rekindled with Apple winning a patent for speech-recognition technology that experts say paves the way for the new device. The iPhone could be announced at the Macworld conference in San Francisco in January.
