At Amphetameme, we've been trying to figure out what Apple's up to next. We think it's a full-screen, touchscreen iPod that also happens to connect to every damn thing under the sun. We think it's also likely this (the new one we think will show up in April) or the next generation to come is a phone.

Apple iBooks by April, 'media hub' product, iPhone within a year
"We are still confident in Apple's product road map – including potential for new iBooks by April in time for the June quarter, a potential 'media hub' product (and more services), new iPods into year-end (including a new media player) and even a new cell phone within a year."
What did they say?
...This phone wont be much of anything. If you look at Motorola and thier designs for phones, they know how to make a good product. I'm not saying that Apple couldn't make a phone, but with all the Itunes stuff on the Motorola's, I dunno if this is gonna make any impact at all
...Apple cellphone with Bluetooth, an Aqua-like user interface, and an extensible application base (open source) would really sell. Pair that up with an Apple-owned EV-DO and you've got yourself a winning combination
